Bring out the white gloves and hands in the air! Ok so that’s a going a bit far but my roots lie in the rave scene of old. Bought up on mix tapes by Carl Cox, Sasha, Dave Seamen, MC Man Paris and the like, I followed the music through hardcore, to hard house and D&B. Shelly’s, The Q Club and The Edge in Coventry provided the DJ’s & Music and planted the first seeds of a love for clubbing and desire to play out myself.
A good few years of emptiness passed before the ‘I could do that’ attitude returned and I started my first club night. Club USA in Atherstone, Warwickshire ran from 1997 through to 1999 culminating with a last one off closing Millennium Party, where I will never forget playing ‘Such a good feeling’ at the stroke of midnight!
Since then, gigs across the UK have kept me interested in the soulful US sound including regular slots at Blend, U-Muve and Fired Up in Derby. Playing alongside DJ’s Richard F, Jon Carter, Danny Rampling, Bobbi & Steve & Joey Negro has been a major buzz, but now I want to spend some time producing my own material. Watch this space!
Favourite house track of all time: Such a good feeling
Favourite DJ of all time: Danny Rampling
Best clubbing memory: People literally climbing through windows to get into my full club USA night..amazing feeling.
